Dental at Atune in Cardiff is located in the ATUNE building, an integrated health centre that offers multiple practices and practitioners in one building for patients’ convenience. We, alongside the many other health practices, work hard to provide a holistic approach to patients’ health.

Owners, Jimmy and Fran, have been working together for almost 6 years. We operate 2 other dental practices, Dental at Kanwal and Dental at Lake Haven, and as such, know exactly what makes a warm and inviting environment. Our friendly and welcoming staff have a special interest in family dental care, offering pain-free general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry for patients throughout Cardiff, Newcastle and surrounding areas.

Dr Jimmy Rao

Principal Dentist – BDS

Jimmy graduated as a general dentist (B.D.S) Mumbai, India 2002 and then undertook further training in orthodontics in Russia for 2 years. He gained his registration as a general dentist in Australia in 2012.

Jimmy is passionate about cosmetic treatments and braces undergoing regular continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest in dentistry. He love seeing his patients happy with the amazing smiles Jimmy creates. Jimmy speaks fluent in Russian, Hindi & English and has worked in diverse places including Lismore and Casino in the Northern Rivers of NSW but has now settled at his practices in Lake Haven, Kanwal and Cardiff.

Jimmy has a passion for music and whilst your in his surgery you will definitely hear some of his favourite music. Jimmy has a wonderful wife who is a passionate school teacher and two beautiful children. On the weekends you will find him riding my motorbike, stand up paddle boarding and learning how to fish.

Introducing your dentist Dr Dayna. 

Dayna completed her first Dental degree as an Oral Health Therapist at Melbourne University. After working for several years in both public and private practices, and extending her scope through valuable continuing education, she decided to take the plunge and go back to study Dentistry.

Dayna completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Sydney University, and was awarded the “Martin Halas Prize No 1 for Proficiency and Professionalism in all areas of Clinical Components in the Final year of the Dental Degree”.

Her philosophy is that a person’s smile is part of their health, to be disease free and confident with their teeth, smile and face. Dayna’s passion for making people feel comfortable and looked after emulates through her treatments. She enjoys providing dental care to all ages and educating people to look after their oral health.

Outside of work hours, you’ll find Dayna, her husband and 2 kids out on the water, playing with their pets or exploring the great food and wine available around the region.

Dr Nicolle Godfrey

Growing up in Lismore in Northern NSW, Nicolle made the move to the Gold Coast to study at Griffith University, where she graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry. Nicolle kept herself busy working as a dental assistant for the 5 years whilst she studied, where she got the pleasure of assisting Dr Jimmy.

She had the very challenging but rewarding opportunity to work in Stanthorpe, which is a town located in rural QLD. She was there for 5 months on placement, where she was faced with a diverse range of dental experiences.

Nicolle has a very gentle, caring and calm nature, and strives to make every patient feel at ease in the dental chair. She believes that a trip to the dentist should be a comfortable and positive experience. In her spare time Nicolle enjoys travelling, hitting the slopes and spending time with friends and family

Fran was among the first cohort of dental hygienists in NSW to graduate from the University of Newcastle Bachelor of Oral Health degree program in 2007. She offers expertise in her field with a passion for educating children on best Oral hygiene practices at home.Fran has two teenage children and understands the importance to motivate teens to take care of their personal oral hygiene.

Fran works alongside Jimmy in a team that provides full oral health care and more.

Stacey Ballard — Dental in Cardiff, NSW

Oral Health Therapist – Dip DT BOralHealth (UON) Ext Scope

Stacey was born & bred in Mudgee. She left the “bush” to pursue her career as an oral health therapist. Stacey is a highly experienced clinician and has been making smiles beautiful for approximately 17 years. She graduated top of her class in Dental therapy with a high distinction average and was presented with the Kathleen Cusack memorial award for recognition of academic achievement. Since graduating Stacey has worked in a variety of rural and remote areas including Dubbo, Mudgee and as far west as Cobar where she participated in the Royal Flying Doctors service.

Stacey is very passionate about Oral Health promotion and she has spent a large proportion of her career servicing disadvantaged children. After settling on the central coast, she has gained valuable experience in specialist periodontal services and general practice.

Casey Mungoven — Dental in Cardiff, NSW

After growing up in a tiny town in western Victoria, Casey moved to Melbourne in 2003 to become a certified dental assistant. After a few years in private practice, she was encouraged to study at La Trobe University (Bendigo) and completed a Bachelor of Oral Health Science in 2008. After gaining valuable experience in both periodontal and general dental practices in Melbourne, she moved to Newcastle in 2012 to be with her husband (a Muswellbrook boy) and has since worked in some great dental teams in the Hunter region. While she genuinely loves her work sprucing up people’s smiles of all ages, she has a soft spot for helping people who feel nervous about visiting their dental provider. Either way, she looks forward to meeting you!
